Welcome to the first part of our series announcing the exciting new features in ProdigyBuild 1.5! In this post, we will focus on the new project management capabilities that will help streamline your workflows and enhance your team’s productivity.

Use Spikes to Research Products

Research is a critical part of software development, especially when considering new libraries or products. In ProdigyBuild 1.5, we have introduced support for Spike issues, designed to facilitate this research.

Using our advanced AI capabilities, Conductor can perform comprehensive research on your behalf. It examines the current code dependencies and programming languages used in your project, then recommends libraries or products that might be beneficial. Additionally, the AI provides a list of pros and cons tailored specifically to your project. This feature not only saves time but also ensures that your research is thorough and relevant.

Added Swim Lane View

To enhance the visual management of your projects, we have introduced a swim lane view to our project board. This new view allows you to group issues by various categories such as assignee, Epic, or subtasks.

The swim lane view makes it easier to track the progress of specific groups of tasks, identify bottlenecks, and ensure that all team members are aligned with their responsibilities. Whether you prefer to see tasks grouped by the team member handling them or by the larger Epic they belong to, the swim lane view provides a clear and organized overview of your project’s status.

Adding Annotations to Images

Communication is key in project management, and sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. In ProdigyBuild 1.5, we’ve made it easier to communicate visually by allowing you to annotate images directly within our app.

When you upload an image to an issue, you can now add annotations to highlight specific areas, provide instructions, or point out bugs. This feature is particularly useful for design reviews, bug reporting, and any scenario where visual clarity is essential. Annotated images can significantly improve the precision and efficiency of your communications.

Added Ability to Link Issues and Releases

Keeping track of issues and their associated releases is crucial for effective project management. With ProdigyBuild 1.5, we’ve made it simpler to link issues together and associate them with specific releases.

You can now easily link related issues, providing better context and traceability for your project tasks. Additionally, linking issues to releases helps ensure that all relevant tasks are tracked and managed through the release cycle, providing a clear picture of what has been completed and what remains to be done. This feature helps in planning and executing releases more effectively, reducing the risk of missing critical tasks.

Create Issues Directly into Different Sprints or Backlogs

ProdigyBuild 1.5 enhances the flexibility of issue creation by allowing you to directly create issues in different sprints, backlogs, or the current sprint or board if you are using a Kanban chart. This feature streamlines the process of managing tasks and ensures that new issues are immediately placed where they are most relevant. Whether you need to add a task to an upcoming sprint, place it in the backlog for future planning, or add it directly to the active board, ProdigyBuild makes it easy and efficient.

New List View for Easy Sorting, Filtering, and Batching Actions

To further improve task management, we have introduced a new list view on the project board. This view allows for easy sorting and filtering of issues, providing a clear and organized way to manage your tasks. Additionally, you can perform batch actions such as moving multiple issues to a new column, assigning them to another user, or deleting them. This functionality is particularly useful for handling large volumes of tasks, ensuring that you can quickly and efficiently update your project board to reflect the current state of your work.

Generate Testing Steps from Code

One of the standout features in ProdigyBuild 1.5 is the ability to automatically generate comprehensive testing steps directly from the code. Our AI, Conductor, seamlessly integrates with your version control systems (including GitHub, Bitbucket, AWS CodeCommit, GitLab, and Azure DevOps). Here’s how it works:

When you assign an issue to Conductor AI and move it into the “Ready to Test” column, the AI analyzes the code merged for that particular issue. It then compares this code against the issue description to create a detailed set of testing steps. This ensures that before any human QA engineer begins their testing, there is a robust, AI-generated testing plan in place. These steps are populated in a new “Testing Steps” tab on the issue, providing a clear and organized approach to testing.

Conclusion

The new project management features in ProdigyBuild 1.5 are designed to enhance your team’s efficiency, improve communication, and streamline your workflows. From generating automated testing steps and performing AI-driven research to visualizing tasks in a swim lane view, annotating images, linking issues to releases, creating issues directly into relevant sprints or backlogs, and utilizing the new list view for batch actions, ProdigyBuild 1.5 provides powerful tools to manage your projects better than ever before.

Stay tuned for our next post, where we’ll dive into the new development features of ProdigyBuild 1.5. In the meantime, try out these new project management features and see the difference they can make in your workflow.
